Returns and Customer Satisfaction

While return policies vary from one company to another, every company should have guidelines in place to ensure customers have memorable shopping experiences. Consultants should always explain a company’s return policy before a sales transaction is complete. In addition, be aware that federal law requires companies to give you a 3-day “cooling off” period for larger purchases, offering a no-questions asked opportunity to cancel your order.

Your satisfaction is very important to direct selling companies. It’s commonly said that a customer with a good experience may tell no one, but a customer with a bad experience will tell 20 people. In direct selling, which is based on word of mouth recommendations, that’s probably true exponentially!

Consultants with DSA member companies are required to explain the return policy to you. Be sure you understand it completely before signing on the dotted line and make sure you get a copy of the receipt. The consultant should also provide you with complete contact information so you can get in touch with him/her if you have questions about your order or need to cancel or make a return.
